Focus stacking has shifted from an esoteric exercise to a daily necessity for many photographers. As capture resolutions go up and up, keeping focus sharp from front-to-back becomes increasingly challenging. We’ll present on the current state of software, hardware, and workflows for focus stacking. We’ll also discuss the situations where Scheimplfug movements on a view camera are a preferred alternative to focus stacking.
